YEREVAN — “We will work with Iran, Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, the European Union, Central Asian countries, China, and everyone else because TRIPP is a global project, and its value and importance will continue to grow,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a government press briefing.
“We want to begin implementing TRIPP as soon as possible, and, as I understand it, the American side wants the same. We must now ensure that the necessary procedures proceed properly so that, hopefully, the first work on the ground can begin this fall,” Pashinyan said.
He added that the project would help establish a railway connection between the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea.
“As a result of implementing the TRIPP project, we will open a railway route from the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea. This will significantly expand trade and economic opportunities between Armenia and Iran, while also substantially increasing Iran’s broader trade and economic opportunities. Taking these details into account, the implementation of the TRIPP project genuinely and directly serves Iran’s interests as well,” Pashinyan said.
