Economy Minister Papoyan Meets with EU Ambassadors Accredited in Armenia, Discusses Export Support Programs

YEREVAN — Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan said in a Facebook post that he received the heads of diplomatic missions and chargés d’affaires of the European Union and EU member states accredited in Armenia.

Deputy Minister Anushik Avetyan also attended the meeting.

“During the meeting, we discussed programs aimed at strengthening and developing Armenia’s economic resilience. The participants emphasized the importance of expanding export opportunities for Armenian products and facilitating trade.

“I noted that Armenian goods are not inferior in quality to the products offered in the European market. They meet the highest standards and have the relevant GLOBALG.A.P. and all other necessary certifications. We have made significant progress in improving the trade environment and raising quality standards. Today, many Armenian companies are ready not only to increase their exports, but also to establish long-term partnerships with European buyers,” the minister said.

The meeting also addressed ongoing export support programs for EU member states and other countries, as well as state support tools.

At the end of the meeting, the minister answered the ambassadors’ questions and presented the government’s policy aimed at developing the sector.
