YEREVAN — A criminal investigation has been launched in connection with a video circulated online on May 18 showing a group of masked and armed individuals making threats and using profanity against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Prime Minister Pashinyan also addressed the video during a campaign event of the ruling Civil Contract Party in the Arabkir district of Yerevan.

“They are wearing masks pretending to be strong men. Do you know why they are masked? Because once those masks come off, we will see that these are the same people who abandoned our soldiers and fled. I do not rule out that they may also be those who fired from behind our troops,” Pashinyan said.

He challenged the individuals to reveal their identities and warned that authorities would identify each of them. Pashinyan accused them of abandoning Armenian soldiers during the war and vowed they would be held accountable.
