YEREVAN —  economic activity index increased by 7.2% in February compared to the same month in 2025. Positive growth was also recorded compared to January, with a 4.5% increase.

According to the Statistical Committee, economic activity grew by 7.4% in January–February compared to the same period last year.

The main drivers of February’s growth were four key sectors. The industrial sector recorded the highest growth at 23.8%, followed by construction at 21.8%.

Significant increases were also observed in services and trade turnover, which grew by 7% and 5.6%, respectively.

One notable macroeconomic development is the recovery of foreign trade. After a prolonged period of stagnation and decline, the sector has shown renewed activity, with signs of recovery already emerging at the end of last year.

In February, Armenia’s foreign trade turnover increased by 30.8% year-over-year, reaching $1.7 billion. Exports rose by 37.6% to $690 million, while imports increased by 26.9%, surpassing $1 billion.

For the first two months of the year, total foreign trade turnover reached $3 billion, marking a 9.3% increase.

Despite the economic growth, inflationary trends persisted in the consumer market, with prices rising by 4.3% compared to the same period last year.
