YEREVAN – Following a government session, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented his views on the 2026 elections.
“In my opinion, the 2026 parliamentary elections should demonstrate the following: all representatives of the political elite who have led Armenia and brought it into a trap—and kept it there—must be pushed out as a result of these elections and have no further role in the political field. This is my view, and I am convinced it must be so,” he said.
The Prime Minister added that he regularly communicates with citizens and sees they are fed up with the constant debates between former and current political actors.
“Not to mention that these discussions often fall outside the boundaries of political civility. Within our party we also discuss that we must move away from this logic, and natural rules of political life must be established in Armenia, where hate speech has no place, especially within political discourse. Now you might say that I’ve engaged in that myself. And you would be right. That is why on Sundays I go, kneel before the altar, and ask forgiveness for my sins,” the Prime Minister noted.
