WASHINGTON, DC — The United States Department of Defense has declined to comment on reports regarding the movement of military equipment from Germany to Armenia.

“The United States strongly values our relationship with Armenia. The Department of Defense does not comment on equipment movements for operational security reasons,” a U.S. defense official told Armenpress.

The statement follows a report by the Russian state-run Russia Today (RT) TV network, which claimed that the United States is planning to transfer military equipment from Germany to Armenia, possibly for joint drills.

Citing documents it reviewed, RT reported that the U.S. intends to move hundreds of military equipment units from its bases in Germany to Armenia in July, with the transfer allegedly taking place through Georgian territory. The report suggested that the move could be linked to potential joint exercises.

The Armenian Defense Ministry has not yet commented on the report.
