YEREVAN — The President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, visited the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan on November 26 during his official visit to Armenia. He was accompanied by Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan, Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Armen Pambukhchyan, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Poland Alexander Arzumanyan.

Edita Gzoyan, Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute (AGMI), guided the delegation through the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex, providing a detailed overview of its history and significance.

President Duda laid a wreath at the monument commemorating the victims of the Armenian Genocide. The guests also placed flowers at the eternal flame and observed a moment of silence to honor the memory of the innocent victims.

Following the tribute, President Duda planted a silver fir tree in the Memory Park. As a token of appreciation for his visit, AGMI Director Edita Gzoyan presented him with books about the Armenian Genocide.

Poland’s parliament officially recognized the Armenian Genocide in 2005.
