YEREVAN — The Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises of Armenia (UATE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BANA Angels to collaborate on organizing an Investor Tour during WCIT2024/DigiTec. This partnership offers a unique opportunity for investors from around the world to not only attend the Congress but also explore Armenia’s vibrant startup ecosystem.

UATE Executive Director Sargis Karapetyan and BANA Angels Director Sona Veziryan signed the memorandum, announcing this large-scale event, which offers Armenian startups a unique opportunity to explore new financial opportunities and markets. The presence of international investors can significantly enhance the global visibility of Armenian startups, fostering innovation and partnerships. This will not only help startups expand their geography but also ensure their competitiveness in the international market, contributing to economic development in the IT sector and help them to scale.

“Within this collaboration, we aim at targeting international investors, who will visit Armenia during the WCIT2024/DigiTec events to meet with local startups and explore cooperation opportunities. This is not only important for presenting investment opportunities in Armenia but also for establishing long-term professional connections between international investors and local startups. At the moment, we have already received a large number of applications from investors, many of whom will be visiting Armenia for the first time. This is also an excellent opportunity for us to showcase Armenia’s rich heritage and modern culture. As part of the Investor tour, we have planned excursions to historical landmarks, local cuisine exploration, and participation in traditional celebrations” director of BANA Angels Sona Veziryan noted.

The Investor Tour, being held in Armenia for the first time, aims to introduce international investors to leading Armenian startups, foster collaborations, and build new connections. This event will enhance investments in Armenia and local startups. International investors will visit the most successful tech companies of Armenia, establish cooperation agreements with entrepreneurs, and explore innovative projects that drive regional growth.

“We are very pleased with this collaboration, as WCIT2024/DigiTec will be held from October 4–7, 2024, in Yerevan,  at the Karen Demirtchian Complex. The Congress will emphasize the importance of applied sciences, investment, and technological presence in various regions and economies, centered around the headline “THE POWER OF MIND: AI Beyond Limits, Within Ethics.”

it will not only contribute to the development of the Armenian IT sector but also play an invaluable role in its internationalization and promotion. The Armenian tech sector development is a priority of the UATE, and through this collaboration, many “Angel Investors” will arrive to support the development of local startups by providing new financial resources, expert advice, and opportunities to enter international markets,” Sargis Karapetyan, Executive Director of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) said.

Over four days, the event will feature a comprehensive high-level program that includes B2B meetings, the WITSA World Cup (WWC) for scaleups from up to 20 countries, innovation exhibits, business presentations, workshops, and more. Designed to attract thousands of local and international delegates, the Congress offers a diverse agenda catering to various stakeholders.
