YEREVAN — Armenia’s Pyunik FC narrowly defeated FC Ordabasy (Kazakhstan) in the second leg of the third qualifying round of the Europa Conference League to advance to the playoff round.

Nigerian striker Yusuf Otubanjo scored the only goal for Pyunik in the 66th minute, securing his side’s place in the final qualifying round. The Armenians had also defeated the Kazakh side 1-0 in the first leg.

Pyunik will face Celje of Slovenia on August 22 and 28.

In another third qualifying round match, Noah FC also advanced to the playoff round.

The Yerevan club was hosted by AEK Athens and lost 0-1 on Thursday. Steven Zuber, the Swiss forward for the Greek team, scored in the second minute of added time.

Despite the loss, Noah advanced to the next round on aggregate, having won 3-1 in the first leg. They will face Ružomberok of Slovakia on August 20 and 28.
