WASHINGTON, DC — Ambassador James Warlick, the US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group has criticized the recent anti-Armenian report on Karabakh adopted by the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE).

In a tweet shared on his personal microblog, Warlick stated that, “PACE and other international organizations should consult with the OSCE Co-Chairs before issuing reports or resolutions on the NK conflict.”

At its meeting on November 4, the PACE Committee approved the anti-Armenian report entitled “Escalation of Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and Other Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan” by Robert Walter (United Kingdom, EC), a rapporteur of the PACE Political Affairs Committee.

In the draft resolution, the Minsk Group was called upon to grant an interim status to the Nagorno Karabakh which will ensure the safety and inner self-governance. The resolution also called for opening a coordinated corridor between Armenia and NK and take confidence-building measures including access to Nakhijevan.
