CAIRO — On August 4, Ambassador of Armenia to Egypt Armen Melkonian met Minister of International Cooperation of Egypt Naglaa El-Ahwany.

The sides discussed the perspectives of strengthening the Armenian-Egyptian trade and economic ties. They exchanged views on the ways of increasing trade turnover and encouraging mutual investments between the two countries, as well on the perspective fields of bilateral cooperation. The parties highlighted the necessity of activating the works of the Joint Governmental Commission and organizing meetings between business circles. Both sides attached importance to the significant contribution of the Egyptian-Armenian community in strengthening the Armenian-Egyptian traditional friendship.

The Armenian Ambassador also congratulated the Egyptian Minister on the occasion of forthcoming significant event of the opening of the new Suez Canal on August 6.
