YEREVAN — Armenia and Cyprus have signed a military pact. Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan and Cypus defense minister Christoforos Fokaides signed the agreement in Yerevan on Wednesday.
Ohanyan later told reporters that the project was for military cooperation in 2015 based on “friendship and mutual support in the field of defense”.
The Armenian minister said that he had accepted Fokaides’ proposal for organizing joint military exercises.
Armenia and Cyprus have already signed more than 20 agreements in health, economy, education, industrial and military matters.
The two countries signed a military and military technical cooperation plan in 2012.
