YEREVAN — The United Kingdom has introduced autonomous trade measures for products originating in Armenia, providing preferential zero-tariff access for a range of Armenian agricultural products and alcoholic beverages.

According to Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the decision is consistent with the strategic partnership between Armenia and the United Kingdom and is intended to expand export opportunities for Armenian producers while strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.

Under the new measures, eligible Armenian products will benefit from duty-free access to the British market.

The list of products covered by the preferential arrangements includes fresh fruits such as apricots, grapes, peaches, nectarines, apples, and pears, as well as dried fruits, including raisins.

The measures also cover a variety of herbs and spices, including basil, mint, oregano, rosemary, sage, thyme, bay leaves, saffron, ginger, and other seasonings.

Alcoholic beverages, including beer, cognac, and brandy, are also included among the products eligible for zero-tariff treatment.

The preferential trade arrangements are expected to improve the competitiveness of Armenian products in the British market by reducing import costs and creating additional opportunities for Armenian exporters.

The initiative marks another step toward strengthening economic ties between Armenia and the United Kingdom, particularly in the agricultural, food-processing, and beverage industries.

By facilitating access to the British market, the measures aim to encourage Armenian exports, support domestic producers, and promote the continued development of bilateral trade relations.
