WASHINGTON, DC — Armenia has been recognized as one of the world’s top travel destinations in National Geographic’s list of the best places to visit in 2027.

According to Armenia’s Tourism Committee, the prestigious publication highlighted the country’s striking natural beauty, mountainous landscapes, and expanding opportunities for outdoor adventure.

Particular attention was given to the Transcaucasian Trail, which offers travelers the opportunity to explore remote regions of Armenia, discover historic monasteries, and experience traditional rural communities.

The article also recognized ongoing efforts to improve hiking infrastructure and develop the Armenian National Trail, an initiative aimed at making the country’s natural and cultural attractions more accessible to visitors.

In a statement, Armenia’s Tourism Committee welcomed the international recognition, emphasizing its importance in promoting the country as an emerging destination for nature enthusiasts, adventure travelers, and hikers.

“Coverage by prestigious international media outlets contributes to raising Armenia’s profile as an attractive destination for nature tourism, adventure travel, and hiking,” the committee stated.

The recognition is expected to further strengthen Armenia’s international tourism profile and draw attention to its diverse landscapes, historic landmarks, and growing network of hiking trails.
