YEREVAN — Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Pashinyan thanked President Trump for organizing the August 8, 2025 Peace Summit at the White House in Washington and for signing, as a witness, the Peace Declaration adopted by the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Armenian prime minister emphasized the decisive importance of President Trump’s personal efforts in establishing peace.

The two leaders welcomed the fact that the Washington Peace Summit had resulted in genuine peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which they said is now being seen and felt by the peoples of both countries.

During the telephone conversation, the leaders discussed the current status of the TRIPP project.

Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Trump reaffirmed their commitment to begin construction work on TRIPP in the near future.

They also discussed other issues on the Armenia-U.S. bilateral and international agenda.
