YEREVAN — A total of 1,141 applications have been received from graduates of leading universities seeking employment within Armenia’s public administration system.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the figures in a Facebook post summarizing the results of an initiative launched in mid-June.

According to the statistics presented, 459 candidates—approximately 40 percent of all applicants—advanced to the second stage of the selection process. The average age of the candidates is 34.

Pashinyan said the initiative had generated considerable interest. Following interviews and professional evaluations, the government will establish a talent pool. The candidates’ education, work experience and professional skills will be matched with the needs of the public administration system.

Pashinyan added that several decisions regarding appointments have already been made within the framework of the program.

“I should note that I have already decided to appoint several applicants to senior positions, and you will soon see the de jure implementation of those decisions,” the prime minister said.

Other candidates included in the talent pool may be offered employment opportunities within the public administration system or other forms of cooperation over the next year.
