JERUSALEM — Six Jewish individuals attacked the entrance of the St. James Monastery in Jerusalem’s Armenian Quarter, according to journalist Gegham Balyan.
Balyan reported the incident in a post on X and shared video footage.
“They took turns spitting at the entrance of the monastery. When they noticed an Armenian woman filming the incident from her home, they threw stones at her window while shouting insults,” he wrote.
Israeli police were called to the scene and arrested the suspects. The Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem filed a formal complaint.
According to official police information, restraining orders were issued against three of the suspects, barring them from entering Jerusalem’s Old City for 15 days.
“The investigation is continuing. Further updates will be provided as they become available,” Balyan wrote.
