TEHRAN — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has published an Armenian-language message expressing his gratitude to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“I sincerely express my gratitude to His Excellency Mr. Nikol Pashinyan and the high-ranking delegation accompanying him for attending the farewell ceremony for the Supreme Leader and the state funeral, as well as for the condolences conveyed by the honorable prime minister on behalf of the people and government of the Republic of Armenia,” Pezeshkian wrote.
“We will never forget this expression of goodwill. I hope that the historical and friendly relations between the two great peoples of Iran and Armenia, which have always been based on mutual interests, good-neighborly principles, and mutual respect, will develop even further.
“Our martyred leader always emphasized the importance of strengthening relations with the Republic of Armenia and referred to Armenia as an ‘honest neighbor.’ Our policy is to comprehensively strengthen and develop bilateral relations,” the Iranian president said.
