Armenian Shooting Team Wins Nine Medals Including Five Golds at Running Target World Championships

TALLINN  — Armenia’s national shooting team delivered an outstanding performance at the Running Target World Championships, held in the Estonian capital of Tallinn from July 20 to 26, achieving historic results.

The Armenian delegation consisted of 12 athletes, who won a total of nine medals: five gold, one silver, and three bronze.

For the first time in the history of Armenian shooting, members of the national team became world champions.

In the senior competition, Hayk Minasyan and Gor Khachatryan each earned world championship titles.

Armenia’s success continued in the team events. The trio of Hayk Minasyan, Gor Khachatryan, and Hovhannes Margaryan became world champions in the running target normal-run event.

Aida Azatyan distinguished herself at the Junior World Championships, winning two world championship titles.

Armenian athletes also earned team medals in other events. The men’s team of Minasyan, Khachatryan, and Margaryan won the silver medal after finishing second in the mixed-run event.

Among Armenia’s three bronze medals was an individual medal won by Hayk Minasyan. The Armenian team also secured two additional bronze medals in the 50-meter mixed-run and normal-run team events, once again represented by Minasyan, Khachatryan, and Margaryan.
