Dr. Yeghig Jerejian Awarded the SDHP Paramaz Medal

YEREVAN — A formal ceremony honoring Dr. Yeghig Jerejian was held during the 23rd Congress of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party (SDHP), during which he was presented with the Paramaz Medal, the party’s highest distinction, in recognition of his decades of service in party affairs, Armenian national and community life, and historical scholarship.

The ceremony opened with remarks by Tigran Mihranian, a member of the SDHP Lebanon District Executive Committee. He noted that the award ceremony had originally been scheduled to take place in Lebanon but was postponed for various reasons. On behalf of the Lebanon District members, he thanked the Central Committee for providing the opportunity to present the medal in Yerevan during the party congress.

Alexan Keoshkerian then spoke on behalf of the Central Committee, presenting an overview of Dr. Jerejian’s life and career. He highlighted his decades of service to the party and in politics, his activities in the Lebanese Parliament, his involvement in the Artsakh liberation struggle, and his extensive contributions to historical research and publishing.

The Paramaz Medal was presented by Dr. Hampig Sarafian, chairman of the SDHP Central Committee, who also delivered brief remarks on the occasion.

In his acceptance remarks, Dr. Jerejian expressed his gratitude to the SDHP Central Committee, members of the Lebanon District, and all those who had supported and encouraged his work over the years.
