YEREVAN — Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the Government of Armenia.
Pashinyan welcomed Carney and his delegation to Armenia on the occasion of the 8th Summit of the European Political Community. “I would like to thank you for accepting the invitation to participate in the European Political Community Summit and for taking the opportunity to visit our country. I believe your participation makes this format more effective, as it clearly broadens perspectives and viewpoints,” the Prime Minister stated.
Carney expressed gratitude to the Armenian Prime Minister and the Government for the invitation to take part in the important event. He also thanked Pashinyan and the Armenian authorities for the assistance provided to Canadian citizens in connection with the Iran-related conflict.
The Canadian Prime Minister further addressed ongoing monitoring efforts in the region in cooperation with the European Union and expressed Canada’s readiness to support the organization of elections. He noted that he was impressed by Prime Minister Pashinyan’s leadership and the steps taken toward strengthening regional stability and creating greater prospects for prosperity for the Armenian people.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed Armenia–Canada bilateral relations and exchanged views on a range of issues of mutual interest.
