Anti-Corruption Committee: Vote Bribes of 70,000 to 200,000 Drams Allegedly Offered in Favor of Strong Armenia

YEREVAN — Supporters of the Strong Armenia Party allegedly offered vote bribes ranging from 70,000 to 200,000 drams to several voters in exchange for voting for the party in the National Assembly elections, Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee reported.

According to the committee, members of the group attempted to give the illegal activity a lawful appearance by registering vote-bribe recipients as campaign activists, volunteers, or regional coordinators. However, investigators say the payments were made not for actual work performed, but in exchange for a prior agreement to vote in a specific way.

Criminal proceedings have been launched. Several individuals have been detained, searches have been carried out, and other procedural actions are underway.

The Anti-Corruption Committee urged citizens to refrain from giving vote bribes or disguising such illegal activity through formal mechanisms, warning that every such case will receive a strict legal response.
