ANKARA — “We are making major efforts to achieve peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said in an interview with Anadolu Agency.
“We share a border with the Caucasus, and the wars and instability there affect us directly. Therefore, we are making serious efforts to establish order and security in the region.
We are undertaking significant efforts to help achieve peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia—from the measured use of influence to high-level diplomacy—while maintaining a balance among regional countries and global powers, so that the heated conflict there does not spill over and affect Turkey,” Hakan Fidan said.
