The first-ever Armenia–EU summit will take place in Yerevan on May 4–5. Armenia will be represented by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, while the European Union will be represented by European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Ahead of the summit, Costa and von der Leyen will also participate in the 8th European Political Community summit, scheduled to take place in Yerevan on May 4.
The Armenia–EU summit will focus on strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of economy, energy, transport, digital development, and people-to-people contacts.
Leaders will also discuss progress toward ensuring peace, security, connectivity, and prosperity in the South Caucasus, as well as ongoing global challenges.
The summit reflects unprecedented momentum in Armenia–EU relations in recent years. The partnership is based on the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which entered into force in 2021, and the Armenia–EU Partnership Agenda adopted in December 2025 with the participation of Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, EU High Representative Kaja Kallas, and EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
The European Union remains a key partner for Armenia in advancing reforms, as well as in trade and investment.
