Armenian and Turkish Lawmakers Meet in Vienna

VIENNA — Armenian and Turkish parliamentarians met in the Austrian capital, as reported yesterday evening by the head of the Armenian delegation, Sargis Khandanyan.

“The meeting focused on issues related to the normalization of relations between the two countries. Both sides emphasized the importance of swiftly reopening roads and other infrastructure in the region, as well as fostering economic cooperation,” Khandanyan stated.

The Armenian side did not provide further details about the meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. It remains unclear who initiated the discussion. The Turkish side has not issued any statement regarding the meeting.
