YEREVAN – Armenia and Italy held regular defense consultations in Yerevan today, chaired by Levon Ayvazyan, Head of the Defense Policy and International Cooperation Department of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, and Colonel Mattia Zuzzi, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the General Staff of the Italian Armed Forces.

During the consultations, the results of cooperation in 2024 were reviewed, and tasks for the coming year were outlined.

Both parties commended the progress in their cooperation, which has expanded in recent years to include new areas.

Levon Ayvazyan provided his colleagues with updates on the progress of army transformation efforts.

The participants also exchanged views on several regional and international issues.

At the conclusion of the consultations, the parties signed the Armenia-Italy defense cooperation plan for 2025. The plan includes various initiatives for experience exchange, training in diverse fields, military education, and other areas.
