YEREVAN — Political friendship between Slovenia and Armenia should translate into concrete economic opportunities for businesses and citizens of both countries, Slovenia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tone Kaiser, said during a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
“Our message today is clear: Political friendship must translate into tangible opportunities for our businesses and our people. Slovenia offers a favorable environment for international trade. Our government is currently working to make our business environment more competitive, strategic, and predictable,” Kaiser said.
The Slovenian minister emphasized his country’s strategic geographical position and its potential role in strengthening commercial connections between Europe and Armenia.
“Slovenia is located at the crossroads of Central Europe. We have previously discussed the importance of further expanding dialogue between Central Europe and Central Asia, particularly Armenia. In this regard, Slovenia offers excellent transportation and logistical connectivity,” he said.
Kaiser highlighted the strategic importance of the Port of Koper, noting that it could serve as a logistics hub for Armenian companies seeking access to European markets.
He added that Slovenia’s geographical location and well-developed transportation infrastructure could create new opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
According to the minister, these advantages could also facilitate Armenian businesses’ access to the European Union’s single market, strengthening commercial ties between the two countries.
