Russia and Armenia to Address Trade Issues Following Putin-Pashinyan Meeting

MOSCOW – Relevant Russian and Armenian government agencies will work on trade-related issues following the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Bishkek, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

“During the meeting with Pashinyan in Bishkek, which was a very important and highly substantive meeting, several issues related to bilateral trade and economic cooperation were identified. The relevant agencies will now address and work through these matters,” Peskov said.

During the meeting between Pashinyan and Putin in Bishkek, the two leaders discussed a range of issues, including Armenia’s decision to launch a process toward European Union membership and Russia’s position that membership in the EU would be incompatible with Armenia’s continued membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
