WASHINGTON, DC — The authoritative publication Forbes has published an extensive article on the new AI data center opened in Gagarin in early June, which is equipped with advanced NVIDIA Blackwell graphics accelerators, Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan said.
According to the publication, Armenia is seeking to turn electricity, engineering talent and computing infrastructure into a new export product.
The article notes that Eleveight AI’s “AI factory” is equipped with 512 NVIDIA Blackwell B300 processors, among the most powerful artificial intelligence hardware currently available.
“We reached this point step by step, through mistakes and continuous effort. This project is not a sudden breakthrough, but the result of many years of consistent work. The fact that we were not afraid of failure was one of the prerequisites for today’s success,” the Armenian high-tech industry minister said.
Minister Hayrapetyan highlighted Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s engagement with NVIDIA Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang, which began with a meeting in Silicon Valley in 2019 and continued with Huang’s visit to Armenia in 2023. According to the minister, those discussions focused not only on AI, but also on creating the infrastructure and capabilities necessary for its deployment.
