MINSK — The Collective Security Treaty Organization must be very cautious and tactful in its relations with Armenia, said Alexander Lukashenko during a meeting with CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov.
“We must be more tactful and careful in our relations with Armenia. As you know, Armenia seems not to actively support work within the CSTO, but it remains a member,” Lukashenko said.
Lukashenko noted that although the CSTO has achieved certain successes, there are also problematic issues, specifically highlighting relations with Armenia as one requiring special attention.
“We must be very tactful. Armenia is in a difficult situation in this regard, especially during the election period. This is a very difficult situation. Therefore, we must be very careful in our relations with Armenia,” he said.
In this context, Lukashenko said it is particularly important to organize meetings between the CSTO Secretary General and Armenia’s leadership.
“Especially now, during this tense election period, when Armenia’s leadership is speaking frankly and openly about the situation, including the CSTO,” the Belarusian leader added.
