YEREVAN — The normalization process between Armenia and Turkey, which began in January 2022, has gained new momentum since March 2026 with the launch of Turkish Airlines flights, Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumaklı said in Yerevan.
According to Yumaklı, ongoing meetings between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan have contributed to advancing efforts to normalize relations between the two countries.
“We want to strengthen peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. Taking into account the current regional situation, we will naturally continue this process,” Yumaklı stated.
The Turkish minister emphasized that renewed engagement and accelerated normalization between Armenia and Turkey could bring significant benefits to both the South Caucasus and Turkey.
“We came to Yerevan today for this occasion. It was a very productive meeting. I hope the messages conveyed from here will reach interested countries around the world and contribute positively to this process,” he said.
Yumaklı also addressed upcoming international events, noting that Turkey plans to deliver important messages to the international community during the COP31 conference, which he said would take place in Antalya next month.
