Armenia to Establish Region’s Most Powerful Supercomputing and Data Center

YEREVAN — The Armenian government has approved a decision to grant customs duty exemptions for imports under a major investment program in a priority sector.

The project, proposed by Firebird AI, aims to establish the region’s most powerful supercomputing and data processing center in Armenia, specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC).

The center will focus on data processing, server hosting, and cloud infrastructure services. It will be located in Armenia’s Kotayk Province and involves a total investment of approximately 170 billion drams.

Of this amount, 5.7 billion drams will be allocated to construction, 139.8 billion drams to equipment acquisition, and 24.5 billion drams to raw materials. By 2030, the project is expected to create 40 new jobs with an average monthly salary of 400,000 drams.

The value of imported goods under the exemption program is estimated at 26.9 billion drams, with tax benefits totaling around 2.6 billion drams.
