Haigazian University Receives $250,000 Donation from the J. Barkev M. Kassarjian Charitable Trust

BEIRUT, LEBANON – Haigazian University has announced a generous donation of $250,000 from the J. Barkev M. Kassarjian Charitable Trust. The donation will be directed toward scholarships for Business Administration major students, funding for academic projects, and upgrading software and laboratory facilities to further enhance the university’s academic environment.

This substantial contribution is a testament to the long-standing relationship between Prof. Barkev Kassarjian (1935-2023) and Haigazian University. Having served as a member of the Board of Trustees of HU for more than 25 years, Dr. Kassarjian’s commitment to the university has been unwavering, as he has closely followed and supported the development of the Business Administration program. It is worth noting that recently the Faculty of Business Administration achieved accreditation from the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE).

“The donation will play a key role in ensuring the continued excellence of Haigazian University’s Business program”, said University President Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian, adding, “specifically, it will aid in providing scholarships to deserving students, support academic initiatives, and enhance essential technological and infrastructural resources.” This aligns with Dr. Kassarjian’s vision to empower the next generation of leaders with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed.

Dr. Kassarjian’s academic and professional background is equally impressive. He joined the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in the mid-1980s, where he held a joint appointment at Babson College, MA, serving as Professor of Management and Chairman of the Management Division from 1981 to 1987. Prior to these roles, he was a faculty member at the Harvard Business School.
