Armenian, Azerbaijani Border Commissions Discuss Delimitation Process in Virtual Meeting

YEREVAN – Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Shahin Mustafayev chaired a virtual meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani border delimitation commissions on February 14, the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.

During the meeting, the sides discussed draft instructions necessary for the delimitation process and exchanged views on organizing the next in-person meeting of the commissions.

Both parties agreed to determine the date and location of the next meeting through further discussions.

Armenia and Azerbaijan have already completed the demarcation and delimitation of a section of their border along the village of Kirants in Armenia’s Tavush region.

Following the border delimitation commission meeting on January 16, 2025, chaired by Grigoryan and Mustafayev, both sides agreed to resume the delimitation of the state border.

According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the parties have decided to start the delimitation process from the northern section—beginning at the point where the borders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia intersect—and proceed southward to the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
