Joint Statement by SDHP, ARF, ADLP of the Western United States

On the evening of Wednesday, October 16, 2024, representatives of the Western United States leadership of the Social-Democrat Hunchakian Party (SDHP), the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), and the Armenian Democratic Liberal Ramgavar Party (ADLP) met for more than two hours at the ARF headquarters in Glendale, California. They discussed the challenges facing Armenia, Artsakh Armenians, and Lebanese Armenians, as well as the many pressing issues affecting our very existence locally.

With the emphasis placed firmly on continuing our collective pursuit of the national cause in its current multifaceted state with resilience and determination, all agreed that our efforts will continue to focus on upholding our independent statehood with commitment and resolute work despite the obstacles we face. The anti-Armenian policies of genocidal Turkey and its ally Azerbaijan persist and add to the utmost importance of reinforcing our work by reinvigorating our foundational organizations (AGC, UACLA) with a renewed spirit, upholding the traditions established in previous years and amplifying our joint efforts. As part of this pledge, we are pleased to announce that, through the merger of these two organizations, the April 2025 commemorations will be spearheaded by a joint central executive under the joint banner of AGC-UACLA that will present various collaborative initiatives.

This union, which also has the support and patronage of our spiritual leaders, reinforces our commitment to serving the Armenian community during these turbulent times when it is abundantly clear that the Armenian nation and homeland are once again facing danger and turbulence.  It is our national duty to serve the homeland and the Armenian people in concord. We call on everyone to rally around our national organizations and establishments, avoid divisive pursuits, prioritize the national agenda, and participate for the safety and welfare of the nation. Countless martyrs and heroes of our nation’s past have demanded this of us, and we owe this to our future generations.
