ACA-PAC Endorses Harris for President of the United States

PASADENA, CA – With millions of voters beginning to cast their ballots by mail or through the early voting process, the Armenian Council of America – Political Action Committee (ACA-PAC) proudly endorses Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States.

In these critical times, we are confident that Harris’ leadership and unwavering commitment to justice, both domestically and internationally, will serve the best interests of Armenian Americans and advance the causes that are vital to our community.

As a former U.S. Senator representing California, Kamala Harris is familiar with the Armenian American community and the issues that matter to us. As Vice President in the Biden Administration, she is also well-versed in the current proactive U.S. foreign policy towards Armenia and the region. While we agree with and aspire for the United States to do more in support of Armenia, we also recognize that the isolationist policies of the previous Administration contributed to the 2020 44-day war and the subsequent ethnic cleansing of Armenians in the Artsakh region.

Harris has emphasized that the right of Armenians displaced from Artsakh to return safely to their homes is essential to restoring dignity to the Armenian people and ensuring stability in the region.

Harris has also pledged to continue supporting Armenia in its efforts to strengthen democracy and foster stability in the region.

During these critical times, when Armenia’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity are in jeopardy, Armenian Americans believe that isolationist policies would only further endanger Armenian lives.

Harris’ selection of Governor Tim Walz as her running mate is also promising for Armenian Americans. Governor Walz’s record on issues important to our community reflects a broader political philosophy and actions that align with the values we hold dear.

Domestically, Harris’ commitment to social justice, the protection of the rights of the poor and middle class, and her efforts to expand social programs, safeguard Social Security and Medicare, raise minimum wages, and make healthcare accessible to all, will benefit not only the economy but all Americans—including Armenian Americans.

For these reasons, we are proud to endorse Kamala Harris for President of the United States. We urge our fellow Armenian Americans and all citizens to join us in supporting Kamala Harris for President.
