The Assembly of Authorized Representatives of Azerbaijani Armenians has sent a letter to the UN Security Council, urging the latter to respond to Azerbaijan’s racism, dissemination of hatred towards peoples, mass killings and ethnic cleanings.
In a letter addressed to the UN Security Council the Assembly expresses concern over the fact that Azerbaijan’s military expenses have been rapidly growing over the past 10 years, reaching $10 billion. Member of the Assembly of Authorized Representatives of Azerbaijani Armenians Ararat Tsaturyan notes that they earlier expressed the concern in letters sent out to the UN and the OSCE. No answer has been received.
The letter notes that refugees form Azerbaijan have settled in Nagorno Karabakh. Accoridngt to the data of the Assembly, the number of refugees from Azerbaijan in Nagorno Karabakh exceeds 50 thousand.
According to the Secretary of the Assembly Edward Poladov, representayives of the above mentioned refugees should be represented in the PACE subcommittee on Nagorno Karabakh, since the humanitarian issues the subcommittee should address directly concern the refugees.
