YEREVAN — Russia has introduced restrictions on the export of cash rubles to Armenia and several other countries, according to an announcement by Armenia’s State Revenue Committee.
The restrictions apply to the transportation of Russian currency from the Russian Federation to member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), including Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, as well as Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Under the new regulations, individuals are prohibited from exporting cash rubles exceeding 1 million rubles.
Legal entities and individual entrepreneurs are prohibited from exporting cash rubles regardless of the amount, except in cases specifically permitted under the relevant decree.
Armenia’s State Revenue Committee has advised individuals and businesses planning to transport cash from Russia to familiarize themselves with the applicable regulations and exemptions before traveling.
The committee urged travelers to comply with the established requirements to avoid potential violations.
