YEREVAN — The Armenian National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Foreign Relations issued a favorable opinion on October 21 regarding a bill to ratify the Framework Agreement on Strategic Cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the United States concerning the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project.
The bill is scheduled to be considered during the National Assembly’s regular plenary session, which begins next week.
The Armenian government approved the framework agreement on July 16, initiating the ratification process. The agreement was subsequently submitted to the Constitutional Court, which ruled that its provisions do not contradict Armenia’s Constitution.
Following the Constitutional Court’s decision and the parliamentary committee’s approval, the agreement will proceed to the National Assembly for ratification.
The Framework Agreement on Strategic Cooperation concerning the TRIPP project was signed between Armenia and the United States on June 1 in Washington, D.C., and June 4 in Yerevan.
