Juventus Academy Officially Opens in Yerevan’s Avan District

YEREVAN — The Juventus Academy in Armenia has officially opened in Yerevan’s Avan administrative district.

The opening ceremony was attended by Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan; Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan; Football Federation of Armenia President Armen Melikbekyan; Italian Ambassador to Armenia Alessandro Ferranti; UEFA General Secretary Theodore Theodoridis; Juventus Chief Business Officer Peter Silverstone; Juventus legend and former Italian champion Fabrizio Ravanelli; and other guests.

The Avan training facility includes a gym, medical examination and rehabilitation areas, an analysis room equipped with state-of-the-art technology, accommodations for coaches and children, and other infrastructure. The facility was built in accordance with modern green-building standards.

Juventus Chief Business Officer Peter Silverstone praised the infrastructure developed in Armenia and the pace at which the project was completed.

“We are pleasantly surprised to be opening this wonderful training facility here. It is a testament to Armenia’s presence, the tremendous work carried out here, and the high-level partnership between Armenia and Italy. Juventus has around 100 football academies worldwide, but what we have seen here is truly exceptional. Creating such infrastructure in just one year is an incredible achievement. Most importantly, 600 to 700 young players have already enrolled and begun training at the Juventus Academy,” Silverstone said, thanking all parties involved in the project for their work.

Construction of the Juventus Academy facilities in Armenia began in late May 2025. Two modern training centers are already completed and operational in Yerevan’s Avan and Kentron administrative districts, while construction of a third facility has begun in the Nor Hachn community of Kotayk Province.

The training centers feature high-quality natural- and artificial-turf football pitches, artificial-turf fields with organic infill designed for younger children, as well as an indoor playing field.

Children training at the Juventus Academy in Armenia are coached by 15 foreign coaches from the Juventus system, who apply the club’s modern coaching methodology and knowledge-based approach.

The academy’s top players will have the opportunity to travel to Turin to train at Juventus’ main academy, compete in the Juventus Academy World Cup, and potentially continue their careers with European clubs.
