Armenia’s Constitutional Court Rules TRIPP Agreement Constitutional

YEREVAN — Armenia’s Constitutional Court has ruled that the TRIPP agreement complies with the country’s Constitution.

The case was heard on September 15, with Constitutional Court Judge Edgar Shatiryan serving as the reporting judge. The court’s full decision is expected to be published within three days.

According to the ruling, the obligations stipulated in the framework agreement on strategic cooperation between Armenia and the United States concerning the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) are consistent with the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia.

The Armenian government appealed to the Constitutional Court in July to determine the agreement’s constitutionality.

Following the court’s ruling, the agreement will be submitted to the National Assembly for final ratification.
