Starlink Donates 56 Additional Terminals to Armenia

HAWTHORNE, CA  — Starlink has donated 56 additional terminals to Armenia to strengthen the reliability of internet communications during emergencies, Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan announced in a Facebook post.

“As a result of negotiations between the Armenian Ministry of High-Tech Industry and the American company Starlink, the Armenian government has received 56 Starlink terminals as a donation to help the country prepare for possible future emergencies,” Hayrapetyan wrote.

“These terminals will make it possible to provide reliable, high-speed internet access for effective disaster response and during other emergency situations.”

The initiative was carried out jointly by Armenia’s ministries of High-Tech Industry and Internal Affairs.

The equipment has already arrived in Armenia and is expected to be allocated to the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The terminals will strengthen Armenia’s emergency communications capacity, particularly during rescue operations, natural disasters and other crises, as well as in situations where conventional communications infrastructure is limited, overloaded or disrupted.

Starlink operates one of the world’s most advanced low-Earth-orbit satellite constellations, providing reliable, high-speed broadband internet to millions of users worldwide. It plays an important role in maintaining communications for emergency response services, particularly in remote communities and during crises.

The donation continues the effective cooperation between Starlink and the Armenian Ministry of High-Tech Industry. As part of that partnership, 110 Starlink terminals are already providing internet access to thousands of students at schools in remote communities across Armenia.

“The Ministry of High-Tech Industry highly values its cooperation with Starlink and this important contribution to strengthening Armenia’s emergency preparedness and response capabilities,” Hayrapetyan wrote.
