Armenia-Iran Forum Opens in Syunik

KAPAN — An Armenia-Iran forum has opened in Syunik, bringing together representatives and experts from leading Armenian and Iranian analytical centers.

Syunik Governor Robert Ghukasyan attended the official opening ceremony and delivered welcoming remarks.

In his address, Ghukasyan praised the friendly relations between Armenia and Iran and emphasized their importance to Armenia, particularly to the Syunik region. He welcomed the participants and wished them productive and successful discussions.

Iranian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Khalil Shirgholami also welcomed the participants and thanked them for attending. He expressed confidence that the work of the expert groups could further strengthen cooperation between the two friendly countries.

The forum aims to bring Yerevan’s and Tehran’s approaches closer together, identify new areas of bilateral cooperation, and develop practical recommendations for decision-making bodies.

Expert discussions during the forum will focus on political, economic, and regional developments, as well as other issues of mutual interest.

The forum is also expected to produce recommendations and lay the groundwork for future institutional cooperation between Armenian and Iranian experts.
