YEREVN — On May 30, 2026, prosecutors initiated public criminal proceedings against one of five masked individuals, identified as M.M. (Mher Mirzoyan), in connection with a video containing threats that posed a real danger of murder.
The suspect has been charged under provisions of Armenia’s Criminal Code related to preparation for murder by a group of persons and obstructing election campaigning through threats of violence.
Authorities stated that on May 16, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m., five masked individuals intercepted a live video feed from the website live.1tv.am and distributed a video containing a credible threat of assassination.
A criminal investigation was launched on May 17 by the Yerevan Investigative Department’s division for serious crimes.
On June 1, prosecutors petitioned the court to impose pretrial detention on the accused.
According to preliminary information, M.M. has been outside Armenia since 2024 and is believed to be in Russia. Relevant documents have been forwarded to Armenia’s police authorities to place him on the national and international wanted list.
