YEREVAN — The new Institute for Economics and Peace report, the Global Terrorism Index 2026, has summarized the ranking of countries based on the level of terrorist threat and its impact.
According to the published data, Armenia continues to strengthen its position among the world’s safest countries.
“Compared to the previous year, our country has improved its standing. With an almost zero score of 0.423, Armenia ranks among the countries with a ‘very low’ impact of terrorism out of 163 states assessed worldwide.
“The index methodology is based on comprehensive indicators, including the frequency of terrorist incidents, the number of deaths and injuries, and the scale of material damage caused. Cases of hostage-taking, the effectiveness of law enforcement responses, and the quality of investigations into such crimes also play a key role in shaping the score.
“This positive trend characterizes Armenia as a state protected from terrorist threats and maintaining a high level of security,” the statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia said.
