46 Countries Evacuate Citizens from Iran Via Armenia

YEREVAN (Armradio) — The list of countries whose citizens were evacuated from Iran through Armenia between February 28 and March 10 has expanded to 46, according to updated information released by Armenian authorities.

Following an earlier announcement, additional countries have been added to the list, including Canada, Greece, Serbia, Finland, and Egypt.

Citizens from neighboring countries also used Armenia as a transit route, including Georgia, Iran, and Turkey.

From the Americas, the countries whose citizens were evacuated through Armenia include the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Uruguay.

A number of European countries were also represented, including Austria, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Greece, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Portugal, Serbia, Ukraine, Finland, and France.

From the Eurasian and Asia-Pacific regions, evacuees included citizens of Australia, Belarus, Turkmenistan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, New Zealand, China, Tajikistan, Russia, Uzbekistan, and the Philippines.

Citizens of several countries from the Middle East and Africa also transited through Armenia, including Guinea, Egypt, Yemen, Zimbabwe, Iraq, Lebanon, South Africa, Morocco, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Syria.

According to the authorities, Armenia provided assistance with visa procedures when necessary to facilitate the transit of these citizens.
