No Agenda to Transfer Electric Networks of Armenia to Turkish Companies

YEREVAN — There is no agenda—even at a theoretical level—to transfer the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) to Turkish companies.

Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission Mesrop Mesropyan made this statement during a press conference in response to a question about whether, at least theoretically, ENA’s management could be handed over to a Turkish company.

“It was even claimed that three senior officials from the commission allegedly traveled to Turkey last year to return and negotiate the sale of ENA to Turkish companies. That would be laughable if the claim were not so unfortunate,” he said. “There is no such item on the agenda. Therefore, at this moment, in practical terms and in reality, I see no indication whatsoever that ENA would be sold to any Turkish company.”
