Armenia–France Defense Cooperation Program for 2026 Signed in Paris

PARIS — On December 15–16, bilateral Armenia–France strategic defense consultations were held in Paris, attended by an Armenian delegation led by Levon Ayvazyan, Head of the Department of Defense Policy and International Cooperation of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense.

During the consultations, Levon Ayvazyan met with Guillaume Ollagnier, the newly appointed Director of International Relations and Strategy at the French Ministry of the Armed Forces. This was followed by expanded discussions between the two delegations with Lieutenant General Éric Pâtier, Deputy Director of the Directorate.

The consultations reviewed the cooperation activities implemented in 2025 and outlined plans for the year ahead.

The parties emphasized the importance of giving bilateral cooperation a strategic substance and an institutional character. As a result of the consultations, the Armenia–France Defense Cooperation Program for 2026 was signed, encompassing several dozen activities across nearly all areas of the armed forces’ operations.

It was also agreed that the next round of strategic defense consultations will be held in Yerevan.
