Starlink Launches in Armenia, Becoming the 130th Country to Access High-Speed Satellite Internet

YEREVAN — Starlink is now live in Armenia, marking the 130th country, territory, or market around the world where Starlink’s high-speed internet service is available, the company announced in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).

The launch of Starlink services in Armenia represents a major step in expanding reliable, high-speed internet access across the country, including rural and hard-to-reach areas, Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan announced on Facebook.

“This milestone was achieved through close collaboration between Starlink, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, and key national authorities—without intermediaries,” he wrote.

“It reflects a transparent and efficient partnership built on a shared commitment to innovation and to enabling this cutting-edge satellite connectivity solution for all. Starlink’s launch marks a transformative moment for Armenia’s digital infrastructure and our continued mission to bridge the digital divide by enabling the best global services,” he added.

Starlink is a global satellite communication system project developed by SpaceX in 2002. Its goal is to provide free internet access to users around the world through a large network of satellites positioned in low Earth orbit.
