Armenian-Azerbaijani Peace Negotiations Regional and Bilateral Relations Discussed
YEREVAN — A phone conversation took place between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Armenian Prime Minister informed the Russian President about the finalization of negotiations and the agreement on the text of the “Treaty on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.”
The Kremlin provided details about the conversation between Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Putin.
“During the phone conversation, Russian President Vladimir Putin assured Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that Moscow is interested in the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan and is ready to support this process in every possible way. President Putin emphasized that Russia has always advocated for the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, guided by the interests of regional security, stability, and sustainable socio-economic development.
Both Armenia and Azerbaijan can always count on Russia’s support in achieving these goals,” the Kremlin’s statement read.
It was also noted that the conversation took place at Armenia’s initiative.
“Prime Minister Pashinyan confirmed that he accepts the invitation of the Russian President and will participate in the celebrations in Moscow on May 9, marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War,” the Kremlin announced.
